About Saturday Night, Festival Day 4
The final day of ProgPower XVIII is loaded with Swedish metal with a touch of Aussie, as headliners Katatonia bring their unique brand of melancholy rock and metal to the Center Stage. Katatonia has headlined festivals and venues around the world and we are proud to welcome them to Atlanta this year. One of the best things about bringing bands from overseas to a brand new audience at ProgPower is seeing these bands grow in popularity and success. Our friends in Sweden’s Amaranthe have achieved much success since their U.S. debut at ProgPower USA in 2012 and thanks to their world-wide smash hit “Drop Dead Cynical”. We are thrilled to welcome them back to where it all began for them in the U.S. right here at Center Stage.
Pain is a band often described as industrial metal but that is only a small sampling of this unique multi-genre band led by Peter Tägtgren, also of death metal icons Hypocrisy. Pain’s performance in Atlanta promises to be one that those in attendance will not soon forget! Legendary drummer Snowy Shaw will make his solo U.S debut next year in Atlanta with a career spanning set comprised of his favorite songs from his rich musical history. He has been known to play cuts in concert from all of his past bands including: Mercyful Fate , King Diamond , Memento Mori, Therion , Dream Evil, Dimmu Borgir , Notre Dame, Ill Will, Mad Architect, and cuts off his soon to be released solo album featuring the soon to be holiday favorite, Krampus.
A few years ago, Dynazty was to make their U.S. debut at ProgPower USA, unfortunately, due to last minute VISA issues, they were unable to perform, so in 2017, they get their well deserved second chance. We will welcome Dynazty back to ProgPower in 2017 for a high energy set of melodic metal. Rounding things out and adding a touch of Australian prog metal to the Swedish loaded Saturday roster is Teramaze. They will be making their U.S. debut in support of their latest album, the amazing Her Halo. Teramaze is a well respected and popular live band in their homeland and we welcome them to the U.S. and Center Stage to perform for you! So there you have it, four days of U.S. exclusives, debuts, surprises and fun. In addition to our annual Corset night and photoshoot, where our female audience members get the spotlight, the Artmore Courtyard after parties, and a family friendly, fun, family reunion-esque atmosphere unlike any festival in the United States where the focus is quality over quantity. Tickets are sold out for days three and four and we expect a sellout soon for days one and two so get yours and we will see you in Atlanta!
