New Wednesday show announced: Circle II Circle
March 18, 2008
The Zak & Mitch acoustic show that was previously announced for Wedneday September 24 has been canceled. Instead, Circle II Circle will now perform a full headline set upstairs in the Loft. They have promised to bring back the AC/DC jam finale as well as an Atlanta exclusive.
Support will come from Atlanta’s own Eclipsed by Sanity.
In order to cover the additional costs of moving the show upstairs, tickets are now $20. Tickets go on sale April 5th via Ticket Alternative (link TBA - please check the event section).
Private Gold Badge/Sponsor Meet & Greet at 5:30pm.
Regular doors at 6:30pm.
Show at 7:00pm.
Metal karaoke will follow downstairs in Vinyl’s starting at 10:00pm (or earlier pending finish time). There will be a $2 cover.
The decision was made to change the show this year because so many fans missed out on the Wed show last year due to the limited amount of tickets. Furthermore, this will give all fans a chance to see the band that will miss out on the U.S. tour due to geographical distance & economic considerations. Fans will also experience a full 90 minute show compared to the direct support slot on the Jon Oliva’s Pain U.S. tour.
PPUSA IX: Replacement Band Announced for Serenity
March 15, 2008
Say hello to Sweden’s Saint Deamon.
I would like to thank the 63 bands that took time to apply for the position. There is no way for me to reply to all of you with personal notes, but please note that I have filed away your contact information for the future. I’ll also be passing them along to Shane for when the Showcase returns next year. I’d also like to thank all of the fans that took time to be involved with the process as well.
cheers,
Glenn
Serenity Cancels PPUSA IX Appearance
March 12, 2008
I have just received notification that Serenity have been forced to cancel their performance due to reasons beyond their control. I will have no further comment on the situation other to say that those wishing to see the band in the future should probably book a flight to Europe.
So……..
I obviously have a list of bands that have expressed interest in performing on file. I also have a list of bands that have impressed me since I made the roster decision many months ago. I could tap a replacement within 24 hrs. However, I have decided to just open it wide open and see what happens. Let’s have some fun and get the fans involved as well.
So do you know any bands that want the opening slot and the chance to elevate their career? This is your chance to tell every band you know that is willing to take the opening slot by the balls and run with it.
Have them (band member or manager only) email me at and ONLY at opener@progpowerusa.com with a link to their website/myspace page . They will receive an automatic reply stating that we received their email and appreciate their interest in the festival. Due to the large volume of emails that I anticipate, I will not respond to each email personally. There is no deadline or firm announcement date. I will simply name the band when I find the one that kicks my ass and agrees to terms. Please remember that this is an OPENING SLOT and probably geared towards newer bands that are hungry as opposed to veterans that expect certain requirements to be met.
I will not accept emails from fans on behalf of bands. I will not accept emails at any address other than the one listed above.
Get busy folks and get the word out.
Glenn
