Amorphis Confirmed as Second Headliner of ProgPower USA IX
Atlanta- Finland’s Amorphis have been confirmed as the second headliner of ProgPower USA IX. America’s premiere metal festival returns to Center Stage in Atlanta on Sept 26 & 27.
“Amorphis may not fit the stereotypical profile, but they truly are a progressive giant in this scene. From their death metal roots to the current moody atmosphere, they have done it all. Any band that can survive for sixteen years by doing it their own way deserves to be a headliner” said promoter Glenn Harveston.
Amorphis’s last performance in the U.S. was in 2003.
Joining the band are festival headliner Iced Earth, Florida’s Jon Oliva’s Pain, Poland’s Riverside, Germany’s Iron Savior, Denmark’s Volbeat, Sweden’s Andromeda, Florida’s Rob Rock, Italy’s Elvenking, France’s Spheric Universe Experience, Austria’s Serenity, and Italy’s Pathosray.
Tickets for ProgPower USA IX go on sale March 1st and limited to 900 tickets.Advance gold badges are sold-out for the seventh consecutive year.
Iced Earth to Headline ProgPower USA IX
January 14, 2008

For Immediate Release: January 14, 2008
Iced Earth to Headline ProgPower USA IX
Atlanta- American power metal giants Iced Earth have been confirmed as the headliner for ProgPower USA IX, which returns to Atlanta’s Center Stage on September 26 & 27.
Iced Earth founder, Jon Schaffer had the following to say regarding the festival:”Well, it’s been a long time coming, but things have finally lined up right for us to be able to do Glenn’s festival. It’s truly an honor for Iced Earth to play the ProgPower USA festival. I flew down several years ago to check it out and it is definitely a top notch operation. It’s really a model for the way festivals should be run, good people with integrity make all the difference in any organization, and Glenn and his crew are all that and more. This is something that we’ve wanted to do for a long time and it’s finally going to work out perfectly for our plans in 2008.Part 2 of the “Something Wicked” epic will be out right around this time and it will be a killer celebration! This will be very cool, and a good time will be had by all!We look forward to seeing you there!” I am beyond excited to have America’s premiere metal band on stage at America’s premiere metal festival” said promoter Glenn Harveston. I may be the promoter, but I’m just as big a fanboy as everyone else in wanting to see them here in Atlanta. I want to personally thank Jon Schaffer for believing in me and the festival.

Headliner announcements coming soon
January 11, 2008
What would another year of ProgPower USA be without the behind the scenes twists, turns and potholes in the middle of the road, right? Things don’t always go as planned, but then again, new opportunities are always around the corner. I’m excited about the scenarios Glenn is pursuing so rest assured the wait will be worth it.
Details on our headliners coming very soon.
Glenn Harveston interview online
January 11, 2008

Our resident ProgPower USA interviewer conducted an in depth interview with Glenn Harveston recently and the result is now online for your reading pleasure.
Here are a few quotes from the interview:
Glenn on ProgPower USA IX: I still have my headliners to announce…..I think it’s probably going to be the best roster as far as diversity and strength overall since III and IV.
New web site launched
January 11, 2008
We’ve been talking about it for a while now and the day has finally arrived (now I can get some sleep!). Welcome to the brand new ProgPower USA web site!
We’ve enhanced the look, cleaned out the junk hiding in the corners and added some new features to make the site experience more interactive (and fun) to use. For all you geeks out there (like myself) you’ll find the RSS feed link for the site on the top right. Feel free to plug that into your favorite RSS feed reader. There is also a feedburner link on the top left that’s a bit more versatile. We’ve added a newsletter for those who would like updates via email. We’ll only send out announcements every month or so, or if it is a timely news item.
We’d like to invite you also to add us to your social site(s) of choice. On the left you will find links to our MySpace (soon to be updated with our new look), our brand new Youtube channel (many more videos coming soon), our Last.fm group and a couple other places. We’ll be adding more as time goes.
Bands, labels, or anyone that has something to promote - you’ll notice we have added advertising slots to our web site. We view this as a win/win situation for everyone. You get to promote your cause and fans get to discover new music and/or music resources. Don’t hesitate to contact Deron (MetalAges) for complete details.
We hope you enjoy the site! We’ll be polishing it up a bit and finalizing a couple more sections in the near future. In the meantime hop on over to the forum and let us know what you think.
