Personal message from Kamelot for PPUSA fans

Dear Progpower Attendees,

As many of you know we have decided to postponed the US tour and try to reschedule once Roy is better. Please know that the decision was not based on any postings or pressure from anyone. We all know that the ProgPower festival is a celebration of music and collaborations between musicians at the highest level, knowing this we said there was no way we would miss it. Michael has been singing his ass off and we cant wait to present the show to you all, if there is a crowd that will appreciate this effort its ProgPower. I want to personally thank all of you for your amazing support with this tour and the circumstances around it. It has been very inspirational for all of us here working hard on the set. Glenn H. has been amazing through all of this as well and his loyalty will never be forgotten. OK, so at the moment Michael is studying the lyrics as I write this and tomorrow we will have another epic rehearsal. Sean, Casey and Oliver will still be holding the Music Clinic tonight at USF, I think we will all be there to support them. We cant wait to meet you guys and share this one of a kind show with some of the coolest music lovers in the world. I look forward to sharing a beer with all you, I need one

With the kindest regards,

Thomas Youngblood/Kamelot

ProgPower USA notice: Please also note that Leaves’ Eyes and Blackguard will also still be performing at this year’s fest.

Blackguard Replaces Turisas

So I emailed Turisas’s booking agent early this morning to notify him that I would be sending his deposit now (a full month ahead of the contractual obligation date). His reply:

“Sorry, they aren’t coming. Their album was pushed back so they aren’t coming over till next year.”

What? That’s it? Where you planning on telling me?

“I just found out last Friday.”

Uh….yeah.

Visa Approvals

After last year’s debacle, I thought a few people would be interested to know what is going on this time around….

We applied for 9 total visas this year (with the remaining ones taken care of by the bands themselves). All 9 visa applications have been approved by the UCIS. That is the MAJOR piece of the application process (and where we got screwed last year).

The rest of the process is now in the hands of the bands themselves as they obtain the actual visa stamps upon completion of their interviews at their respective consuls. I expect absolutely no problems with that.

I want to take this moment to recognize Marc “The Visa Guy” Gessford for his outstanding and dedicated work this year.
